Lucy is the proud owner of Gymboree Play & Music Kensington. This is my second franchise also owning the Tunbridge Wells branch.
I originally trained as an actress and graduated with a BA Honours Degree in Performing Arts from Bath Spa University. I worked as a Gymboree Play & Music teacher part time and progressed to the manager of the Cheam branch.
Following a few years away working abroad for Thomas Cook and as a children's presenter at Butlins in Bognor Regis, I always knew one day I wanted to start my own Gymboree Play & Music.
Kensington opened it's doors in January 2020 so with a slow start Lucy and her team are now excited to be growing the business, we welcome members old and new to our Gymboree Play & Music family.
My name is Barbara and I am one of teachers here at Gymboree Play & Music Kensington.
I have been working with children all my life: I have been a nanny for 5 years looking after children from the age of 10months to 8 years.
I also worked as an entertainer in a hotel in Italy for few summers and I owned a company which run birthday parties, events and Italian playgroups here in London, before we closed due to the lockdown.
I simply love working with children and I am passionate about their development: I like to organise stimulating activities and teach new things through play and that's why I love Gymboree Play and Music, I truly believe in each and every class plan and I find priceless watching our little ones growing, learning new things and achieving milestones week by week.
I also love to read, cook, do arts and crafts and role play with children.
I love to look at the world with their innocent eyes and their extensive imagination: it makes it a better place.
That said, I will always be thankful to Gymboree Play & Music for all the special moments I’ve already lived and all the wonderful memories I am building.
They will stay forever in my heart.
I am an Italian trained music teacher with Origami passion who has been living in London since 2013.
I've been working for long time with children and adults and I've always thought (and I still think it!) that if we, adults, looked at this world with the little ones eyes and lived our lives as the little ones do, we would be living in a better place and in a better way.
Music, little ones, play: Three keywords for me, Gymboree Play & Music simply put them all together and I didn't even finish to read the job advertisement when I applied for the Gymboree Play & Music Kensington teacher position...
I just clicked on the button "apply now"...and here I am, happy to be at Gymboree Play & Music Kensington !

Barbara and Cinzia at the Kensington branch are fantastic! I couldn’t have wished for better teachers and a better venue!
The classes are great for kids and it’s such an open/safe space for them to explore !
Highly recommend!
My daughter goes to Gymboree since she was 4 months old and we simply love it. It is a great way to keep her both physically and intellectually stimulated. Also, I think Barbara and Cinzia in the kensington arm are simply fantastic in making the babies welcome and help them have fun while learning. Highly recommended!
My daughter started Gymboree with 4 months old and continued until 1,5 years old when we had to take her out to put her at nursery.
Barbara and the team have been incredible loving and welcoming, and Gymboree became my daughter's favorite weekly activity.
We will miss the familiarity and cozyness of it! Thank you for all/
My son is very happy with the classes and looks forward to going to Gymboree Kensington twice a week. The teachers are really good and also very responsive on e-mail for parent queries.
Both of my children (3.5yrs and 11 months) go to Gymboree and love it. My toddler goes to their drop-off Lego class which she raves about. Its very creative, working not only on Lego skills but also painting, drawing, etc. My infant son loves his Gymboree crawlers class - particularly loves crawling all over their props, through the tunnels, etc. Great way to get the infant crawling over obstacles! Gymboree is part of our weekly schedule for both kids and we look forward participating every week. Invaluable!

Gymboree Play & Music was a lovely and positive experience for my son Leo. We started when he was 9 months and he is now 3 years old, I wish we had started sooner.
He loves the songs (which is part of our daily singing at home), the freedom to explore and he was happy there. He looks forward to class every week and once class is over he will tell everyone about Gymbo and what he did.
For me, I liked that it taught him how to get down safely from a height, how to learn to use his body, and touching on different topics every 2 weeks. It gave me confidence in other environments to trust that he has the ability that he learned from Gymboree Play & Music and to trust him.
Absolutely amazing place! Especially Aaron from the Chiswick branch, always makes us feel very welcome there. He is extremely passionate and professional. His warmth and enthusiasm are precious. I would recommend that place to everyone! So happy we found it in our community. My son loves going there.
