Owner and Teacher
Abi is mum to three little girls and her first Gymbo experience was 6 years ago when they came to a friend's first birthday, and from that moment she knew Gymboree Play & Music was the only class for them. All three of Abi's girls have been Gymboree Play & Music babies, working their way through the levels, attending baby massage courses and having so much fun. She's seen first hand the impact our classes can have on a child both physically and cognitively and what a safe and fun place it is to be. Abi's second little girl has Down Syndrome and the impact our classes have had on her development has been amazing.
Abi's always loved working with children and before Gymboree Play & Music she was a deputy head in a primary school, teaching all years from reception to year 6. It was a job she absolutely loved and never expected to leave but whilst on maternity leave the opportunity to run Gymboree Play & Music came up. It was an opportunity Abi could not walk away from! As an experienced teacher she's a huge advocate of the Gymboree Play & Music early years curriculum and she especially enjoys running our school skills class!
Abi's very proud of our enthusiastic, talented and dedicated Bristol team who ooze all things Gymbo from every pore! Getting to meet so many wonderful families and see their little ones develop in so many ways…first rolls, steps, claps, jumps will always be such a privilege to witness. No day is ever the same but they are always full of smiles!
Manager and Teacher
I absolutely love working at Gymboree Play & Music!
I feel so special to get to be a part of little ones’ early lives; watching them grow, learn new skills and hit new milestones is such a precious thing that I get to share with the families that come to Gymboree.
Getting to be involved in their development is such an amazing experience, from bonding with the children and grownups, to watching their personalities grow and blossom. Each day so many things amaze me, I am constantly laughing and beaming with joy at the sweet, cheeky, mischievous and curious characters that I see!
I have a BA Hons in Professional Musicianship – Song writing and love being able to bring all my Musical and Performance knowledge to my day-to-day life at Gymbo! Outside of Gymbo I run my own Music Business as a Professional Singer, Musician and Manager (I play Guitar, Ukulele, Bass and Basic Piano too!)
Some personal highlights, performing arts wise, have to be performing at Glastonbury, The Edinburgh Fringe, The National Theatre and Latitude!
I used to Teach Music at a Primary School to Reception, Year 3 and Year 4 classes, and also taught at a Performing Arts School for 4-6yrs, but Early Years is definitely where my true passion lies!
I love coming to work, for me it’s exciting when Monday morning comes around, and I’m very lucky to have such an amazing team to work with too!
Working at Gymboree brings so many rewarding moments and its such a pleasure watching the little ones progression as they develop new skills and reach milestones
Its such a pleasure to be a part of their journey and having brought my little girl to class here and observed her confidence blossom and her sheer delight during the session I knew Gymboree would be such special place to work
After becoming a mum during lockdown I decided I wanted to be closer to my family so relocated to Bristol and absolutely love it !
I feel so welcome here and im really enjoying getting to know both the children and their families, no day is ever the same but is always full of joy and laughter
I have a BA(hons) in Acting and have spent 20 years working as an actress in west end musicals, plays, pantomimes and VoiceOver

Westbury on Trym
You can access Eastfield from either Eastfield Road or Priory Ave/Eastfield Terrace.
Once you are on Eastfield, find the RAFA club located at number 38. It is a large building with a sign in front so you shouldn’t have too much trouble finding it. Go down the small lane to the side of the RAFA club signposted to the car park – this is also the car park for Gymboree Play & Music. We are located in a separate building behind the main club.
If you are driving, please take care on the short lane leading to our car park. This is not a busy lane but it is narrow and therefore you need to be prepared to give way to oncoming vehicles. Do also note that pedestrians will be using this lane and small children will be in the area, so do take extra care.
All our members are welcome to use the RAFA car park located behind the club.
Occasionally, the club host events and the car park can get full. If this is the case, there is plenty of on street parking available on Eastfield and the surrounding roads.

Both of my children (3.5 years and 11 months) go to Gymboree Play & Music and love it. My toddler goes to their drop-off Lego class which she raves about. It's very creative, working not only on Lego skills but also painting, drawing etc. My infant son loves his Gymboree Play & Music Crawlers class - particularly loves crawling all over their props, through the tunnels, etc. Great way to get the infant crawling over obstacles! Gymboree Play & Music is part of our weekly schedule for both kids and we look forward to participating every week. Invaluable!
Gymboree Play & Music was a lovely and positive experience for my son Leo. We started when he was 9 months and he is now 3 years old, I wish we had started sooner.
He loves the songs (which is part of our daily singing at home), the freedom to explore and he was happy there. He looks forward to class every week and once class is over he will tell everyone about Gymbo and what he did.
For me, I liked that it taught him how to get down safely from a height, how to learn to use his body, and touching on different topics every 2 weeks. It gave me confidence in other environments to trust that he has the ability that he learned from Gymboree Play & Music and to trust him.
Absolutely amazing place! Especially Aaron from the Chiswick branch, always makes us feel very welcome there. He is extremely passionate and professional. His warmth and enthusiasm are precious. I would recommend that place to everyone! So happy we found it in our community. My son loves going there.
