Gymboree Play & Music offers a wide range of progressive toddler activities at our centres across the UK. Toddler classes are so much more than a fun activity for your little one and you. There are huge benefits too! It’s a really important phase of child development.
From 10 months through their first year, to two years old, they will take dramatic strides forward in all areas of development. And so, it’s critical that they are exposed to experiences and environments which will help them blossom. All of which they can find in toddler classes.
It’s a fascinating time, where they seem to hit new landmarks on a weekly basis. This includes in their physical, cognitive, emotional and social development, in language and sensory and motor skills. It’s a time when they are making sense of the world around them, developing relationships and acquiring new skills.
In attending toddler classes with their peers in a stimulating environment, children make visible progress. Activities like art classes, music classes, open play, gym classes for crawlers, walkers and even runners, toddlers will become school ready and have a lot of fun along the way!
Our toddler programme is designed by child development experts to nurture physical, social, and cognitive skills in a progressive manner. And each teacher uses a custom designed curriculum to challenge and foster development, building crucial skills to support a lifetime of learning.
Which is why families can be assured they are in the right place. Our expert-designed classes scooped the winners prize as the UK’s Most Loved Sport or Physical Activity Classes at the What’s On 4 Kids Awards 2021.
Gymboree Play & Music operate as a membership scheme. This means that members pay a regular monthly fee, including a space in an appropriate class every week. Most of our classes are 45 minutes long and your Gymboree Play & Music membership gives you one age-appropriate structured class per week, It also includes access to Open Gym throughout the week.
Each Gymboree Play & Music Centre also offers occasional special events for babies and toddlers, This includes Halloween, and Christmas. And as the global leader in early development programmes, our classes help to develop the cognitive, physical and social skills of toddlers as they learn. They also provide you with the perfect opportunity to connect with like-minded families.
Our toddler classes are designed by experts for children aged 10-28 months. Each class enables little learners to develop problem solving skills through interactive games, play and music.
N.B. Not all centres offer all types of classes.

Both of my children (3.5 years and 11 months) go to Gymboree Play & Music and love it. My toddler goes to their drop-off Lego class which she raves about. It's very creative, working not only on Lego skills but also painting, drawing etc. My infant son loves his Gymboree Play & Music Crawlers class - particularly loves crawling all over their props, through the tunnels, etc. Great way to get the infant crawling over obstacles! Gymboree Play & Music is part of our weekly schedule for both kids and we look forward to participating every week. Invaluable!
Gymboree Play & Music was a lovely and positive experience for my son Leo. We started when he was 9 months and he is now 3 years old, I wish we had started sooner.
He loves the songs (which is part of our daily singing at home), the freedom to explore and he was happy there. He looks forward to class every week and once class is over he will tell everyone about Gymbo and what he did.
For me, I liked that it taught him how to get down safely from a height, how to learn to use his body, and touching on different topics every 2 weeks. It gave me confidence in other environments to trust that he has the ability that he learned from Gymboree Play & Music and to trust him.
I’ve been taking both my newborn and toddler to Gymboree Play & Music for a couple of months now and both boys are really loving the classes and open gym sessions. It’s a great way to meet other mums, entertain toddlers at witching hour(!) and get ideas for sensory play with babies. Sophie and Cat are fantastic and have so much energy and loads of different ideas for the classes, plus make sure the activities it’s help children meet their development milestones as well. Highly recommend this if you’re thinking about joining!! Thanks so much Sophie, Cat and the wider team :-)
