Gymboree Play & Music Putney is run by the lovely Maddison, Joshua, Akeela, and Francesca. They’re based upstairs in Unit E on the first floor of Putney Exchange Shopping Centre. They cover a large area around and including Putney, up to Barnes, south of the river, and Parsons Green, north of the river, down to Wimbledon Common, west to Mortlake and Richmond Park, and east to East Putney and Chelsea Harbour, and everywhere in between! Gymboree Play & Music Putney offer sensory classes for babies, as well as our famous Play & Learn classes for little ones who are on the move. Membership

Gymboree Play & Music’s classes are offered as a membership, where members are booked in for a developmentally-appropriate teacher-led class every week. Members can also enjoy unlimited access to Open Gym sessions throughout the week, spaces permitting. Membership fees are paid monthly by direct debit.

Maddison

Manager

Maddison is the Centre Manager for GPM Putney as of March 2025. Maddison has a degree in Music Performance and Industry and has worked with children for 3 years including leading music classes in nurseries. Maddison is passionate about her music career and performs regularly around London with her band. She cannot wait to bring her love for music and her enthusiastic personality to the Gymboree Play & Music playfloor!
Francesca

Teacher

Cesca worked in music performance before starting at Gymboree Play & Music.
Joshua

Teacher

Joshua has over 8 years of youth work / teaching experience ranging from pupils age 0-43! He has a degree in youth work, a diploma in music and is a grief recovery specialist. He recently did his Masters in Music Production and was also awarded 'Outstanding Student'. His top priority is to make everybody feel seen and heard, regardless of age.
Akeela

Teacher

Akeela comes from a hairdressing background and has a Level 2 Distinction in Musical Theatre, and was a Young Ambassador at Youth Club. She is very excited to start as a teacher at Gymboree Play & Music and can't wait to teach your classes!

We are based in the Putney Exchange shopping centre. Find us on the first floor, with lift and escalator access. We are surrounded by supermarkets, toy shops, bookstores, and cafes to make the most of your visit.

How to get here:

Car: The Putney Exchange shopping centre has a large indoor car park with hourly and daily parking rates. To reach the car park on Lacy Road, off the Putney High Street use Sat Nav reference: SW15 1NH
Train: Putney Train Station is just a 5 minutes walk away, turn right as you exit and follow the high street
Tube: We are approx. a 15 minutes walk from East Putney and Putney Bridge stations which are on the District line
Bus: Putney is served by many bus routes. Here are a few useful ones – 22, 14, 74, 37, 337, 270, 220, 93, 39, 85, 265, 424, 430, & 485

A really fantastic class. My 10 month old really loves it and there is nothing else like the space for babies to crawl around in. He really enjoys the songs and has really developed his skills like clapping, pointing and climbing.

My granddaughter loves her classes at Gymboree! She loves climbing and the other activities, but is especially keen on the music!

We attend the runners class. The classes are good but sadly it seems to have lost its way recently. All the staff have changed and it seems to be they’re going through the motions and the classes seem crowded. I hope this changes as it’s a great place.

Hi, I like the Gymboree classes a lot. However, I think it is too expensive and am in fact thinking of cancelling my membership due to the recent price hike. Also, at the Putney location I don't like that there are no classes offered on Saturday. The open gym sessions are also very limited and often at around 12 which is either lunch time or nap time. I'd be a bit happier with the price if I could at least make one open gym session a week - as it stands I go once a week to my normal class and it doesn't seem worth the price. When I first joined 4 years ago there was an unlimited membership that was cheaper than what I'm paying now, and seeing the significant price increase while taking away classes and class options has been very annoying.

Both of my children (3.5 years and 11 months) go to Gymboree Play & Music and love it. My toddler goes to their drop-off Lego class which she raves about. It's very creative, working not only on Lego skills but also painting, drawing etc. My infant son loves his Gymboree Play & Music Crawlers class - particularly loves crawling all over their props, through the tunnels, etc. Great way to get the infant crawling over obstacles! Gymboree Play & Music is part of our weekly schedule for both kids and we look forward to participating every week. Invaluable!

Gymboree Play & Music was a lovely and positive experience for my son Leo. We started when he was 9 months and he is now 3 years old, I wish we had started sooner.
He loves the songs (which is part of our daily singing at home), the freedom to explore and he was happy there. He looks forward to class every week and once class is over he will tell everyone about Gymbo and what he did.
For me, I liked that it taught him how to get down safely from a height, how to learn to use his body, and touching on different topics every 2 weeks. It gave me confidence in other environments to trust that he has the ability that he learned from Gymboree Play & Music and to trust him.

I’ve been taking both my newborn and toddler to Gymboree Play & Music for a couple of months now and both boys are really loving the classes and open gym sessions. It’s a great way to meet other mums, entertain toddlers at witching hour(!) and get ideas for sensory play with babies. Sophie and Cat are fantastic and have so much energy and loads of different ideas for the classes, plus make sure the activities it’s help children meet their development milestones as well. Highly recommend this if you’re thinking about joining!! Thanks so much Sophie, Cat and the wider team :-)
