Gymboree Play & Music Tunbridge Wells

Gymboree Play & Music Tunbridge Wells is run by the lovely Amelia and Olivia.  They’re based on the upper floor in the Royal Victoria Place shopping centre opposite M&S.  They cover a large area around and including Tunbridge Wells, up to Shipbourne, down to Castle Hill and Stonegate, West to Crowborough, Blackham, and Charcott, and East to Ticehurst and Paddock Wood, and everywhere in between!  They offer sensory classes for babies, and Music classes, as well as our famous Play & Learn classes for little ones who are on the move.  Classes are 45 minutes long with activities, singing, exploring and ooodles of bubble fun! 

They also offer a range of fabulously fun birthday parties, with zero clean up for you!

Come to Classes

There are 2 different ways you can come to classes at Gymboree Play & Music Tunbridge Wells.

  • Membership

Gymboree Play & Music’s classes are offered as a monthly membership paid by direct debit, where members attend developmentally-appropriate teacher-led classes, have access to Open Gym sessions, and other member benefits and discounts!

Unlimited Membership

  • £68 per month
  • Unlimited classes

  • Online Portal to manage all of your bookings and membership
  • Siblings £50 per month

Trial Class

  • £10 (one per child) – or FREE if you sign up within 7 days!*

  • Fun Pass

If you don’t want to commit to monthly membership you can buy a Fun Pass.  This gives you the flexibility to come to classes when convenient for you, and includes access to Open Gym sessions.

£120 for 6 classes, valid for 6 months.

    Centre Manager

    Hi - I’m Amelia, the Centre Manager at Gymboree Play & Music Tunbridge Wells!
    For over 10 years, I’ve lived and breathed performance — from pantomimes to appearances on Netflix and BBC shows. After earning my Drama and Performance degree in 2023, I discovered my passion for using creativity to support early development through my dissertation on drama and music therapy for SEN children.
    Before joining Gymboree Play & Music, I worked as an Activities Coordinator Assistant in a local care home, where I learned how powerful play, connection, and laughter can be at any age.
    I’m so excited to bring that same energy, creativity, and love for performing to our Gymboree Play & Music families — making every class full of joy, imagination, and a little bit of sparkle!

    After completing a childcare course and working in childcare for over a year I was looking for a change and that’s when I discovered Gymboree Play & Music.
    I have been teaching since August 2025. I can’t wait to help all the little ones grow and develop and most of all have so much fun learning and playing!
    I love teaching at Gymboree Play & Music and I love seeing everyone’s smiley faces. I am so lucky and thankful to have been welcomed by all the members.

Gymboree Play & Music Tunbridge Wells is located on the upper floor in Royal Victoria Place shopping centre , opposite M&S and next to Kids Stuff.

The closest parking is Meadow Road car park, level 6, first entrance door, which leads you out just around the corner from us.

As you come in, our main reception has shoe benches, coat hooks and spaces for pushchairs. We also have baby change and Toilet, with child seat on site.

We had our son’s first birthday at Gymboree TW and it was the best decision we had made for the day! Amelia, Emma and Olivia were absolutely amazing and made such an effort for him, he had a smile on his face all day, plus all of the other children & adults who came absolutely love it too. Amelia made the planning effortless and planned the whole afternoon to a theme “Disney animals,” with the games and music completely in line with the theme. The day was so special especially for our son’s first & we cannot wait to come back for our second! A massive thank you to Amelia and the girls!!!

Gymboree Tunbridge Wells is truly the most magical place. I know every parent thinks their child is a genius, but I genuinely believe that so many of my daughter’s milestones have been reached early because of the time she spends at Gymboree. She was talking, walking, climbing, and exploring ahead of her peers, and I credit so much of that to the incredible environment and activities here. She has learnt such amazing skills!
The space itself is wonderful — safe, clean, and full of opportunities for little ones to run, jump, climb, and burn off energy without any worries. It’s the perfect place for children to develop confidence and independence while having the best time.
But for me, Gymboree has been just as important as it has been for my daughter, especially as a mum without a village. I originally thought she needed to be crawling to get the most out of it — I was so wrong! I wish I had joined earlier. What I didn’t realise was how much I would gain. I’ve made lifelong friendships and found a support network of the most incredible people. I was really lonely with no family or friends nearby, and honestly, Gymboree has been a lifesaver. I don’t know how I coped without it.
I look forward to going just as much as my daughter does.
Thank you to the entire team for creating such a special space — I truly feel like I’ve found my village. x

Shona, Megan and Elinore are great at what they do and my child loves the atmosphere here! Their classes are so much fun and always different, the equipment changes all the time, great at keeping it fresh and interesting.
You can tell Shona, as a manager really has a passion for what she does and drives her team and had added some lovely touches to the place since taking over.
The team always have smile on their faces and are so engaging with every child in class. We love Gymboree and think everyone should try it!

How do you work?

We hold developmental classes for 0-5 year olds, from Baby Sensory, Music Classes to Play & Learn for toddlers.
Each age group have a bi weekly class theme with activities to match, building those all important skills through play based on their age.

With our membership, you'll receive unlimited teacher led class each week and unlimited Open Gym sessions - so, you can keep the fun going everyday!

Can I try before I sign up?

Yes! Each child is entitled to a Trial class. So why not book yours today?
To book your trial, head to the timetable on the main page, find the day and class you want and select book.

Can I pay for a one off class?

As a leader in developmental classes for 0-5 years old, you'll find our UNLIMITED membership is the most cost effective way to make the most of our classes, with many benefits.

Great news! We now do a Fun Pass, which boasts 6 classes to use in a 6 month period with Unlimited Open Gym Sessions - Helpful if you find difficult to commit to a weekly class.

What ages to you cater for?

We teach little ones as young as 2 weeks old in our baby sensory classes all the way to 5 Years. Our class levels have been designed to build skills learnt at each developmental stage, building physical strength as well as building cognitive pathways with learning by play.

Are you Term Time only?

Great news, we're open all year with exclusion to Bank Holidays, you'll still be able to enjoy your classes all year long.

What happens if I can't make it?

Don't worry if you're away or unable to attend your class. With our UNLIMITED membership, you can attend as many (or as little) class as you wish. With the membership, you have access to booking using our app and marking absences.

How do I book a Trial?

To book your Trial, have a look through the classes on our Main page (Mon-Fri), the class levels with the book button next to it are available for you to book. Click the book button and fill in your details, you'll receive a confirmation email & text before your class.

Both of my children (3.5 years and 11 months) go to Gymboree Play & Music and love it. My toddler goes to their drop-off Lego class which she raves about. It's very creative, working not only on Lego skills but also painting, drawing etc. My infant son loves his Gymboree Play & Music Crawlers class - particularly loves crawling all over their props, through the tunnels, etc. Great way to get the infant crawling over obstacles! Gymboree Play & Music is part of our weekly schedule for both kids and we look forward to participating every week. Invaluable!

Gymboree Play & Music was a lovely and positive experience for my son Leo. We started when he was 9 months and he is now 3 years old, I wish we had started sooner.
He loves the songs (which is part of our daily singing at home), the freedom to explore and he was happy there. He looks forward to class every week and once class is over he will tell everyone about Gymbo and what he did.
For me, I liked that it taught him how to get down safely from a height, how to learn to use his body, and touching on different topics every 2 weeks. It gave me confidence in other environments to trust that he has the ability that he learned from Gymboree Play & Music and to trust him.

I’ve been taking both my newborn and toddler to Gymboree Play & Music for a couple of months now and both boys are really loving the classes and open gym sessions. It’s a great way to meet other mums, entertain toddlers at witching hour(!) and get ideas for sensory play with babies. Sophie and Cat are fantastic and have so much energy and loads of different ideas for the classes, plus make sure the activities it’s help children meet their development milestones as well.
