I’m Melanie (she/her), and I support families across the West Midlands at birth and beyond as a birth and postnatal Doula.

This includes delivering antenatal support and education, attending births, providing practical postnatal support and running retreats. I also provide holistic support in pregnancy and postpartum such as reiki and homeopathy, and a wonderful ‘Motherhood ritual and massage’ which you can receive any time postnatally, to help you physically recover and emotionally process birth and your journey to motherhood.

Lorraine Dyer is the proud owner and lead trainer for Mini First Aid in Birmingham and the surrounding areas. A mum to two adventurous boys, Lorraine brings both personal understanding and professional expertise to every session. With a background in Education and Training, and valuable hands-on experience as a Community First Responder for the West Midlands Ambulance Service, she offers a calm, knowledgeable, and engaging approach to first aid training.

Lorraine leads a team of three experienced trainers delivering a wide variety of first aid classes. These include sessions for early years children (as young as 3), primary and secondary school students, teenagers, workplace teams, and the very popular 2-hour Baby & Child First Aid class – perfect for parents, grandparents, and carers. All classes are taught in a relaxed, friendly, and informal environment, making learning feel approachable and empowering.

Dedicated to inclusion and real-life relevance, Lorraine ensures that training reflects our diverse communities. Classes use a range of training manikins, including brown skin tones and manikins with breasts, to represent a broader spectrum of people. This thoughtful approach helps participants better connect with the material in a way that feels realistic, but never frightening.

Lorraine’s passion is simple but powerful: to equip families, schools, and workplaces with life-saving skills that can make all the difference when it matters most.
