Play for Free on Playday!
It’s Playday on Wednesday 6th August – the national day for play. Gymboree Play & Music is proud to be a Playday Champion, because we’re passionate about play!
Playday is a national initiative organised by Play England, Play Wales, Play Scotland and PlayBoard Northern Ireland.
This year’s theme for Playday is ‘spaces for play‘. It highlights the vital importance of accessible, inclusive spaces where children have opportunities to play freely, spending time, and connecting with friends – and feel valued as part of their community. Children will play anywhere and everywhere, so access to quality playful spaces and places is essential for their happiness and development, offering opportunities to boost both physical health and emotional well-being.
- Play is essential at all ages and stages of childhood.
- Play helps children make sense of the world around them, deal with challenges, and build resilience.
- Play is fun, enabling children to make friends, blow off steam, and cope with stress and anxiety.
- Play is vital for children’s health, happiness, and skills development including creativity, imagination, and sense of adventure.
We at Gymboree Play & Music know more than most about the benefits of play! So to celebrate Playday many of our Centres are throwing open their doors and offering free sessions for any little ones aged 0-5 years to come and play on our playfloors.
